Dr Neeraj Patil, 49, was born in Karnataka, South India and is married with two children. He has lived and worked in South London for the majority of his time since coming to Britain.
Dr Patil followed his parents into medicine and worked in India prior to coming to the UK for post graduate studies. Following completion of his post graduate training he has worked as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and for the past year at Northampton General Hospital. Dr Patil has worked in the NHS for over twenty years. He has also served as a Foundation Governor for both Guy's and St Thomas Hospital & Kings College Hospital.
Neeraj has been a member of the Labour Party for fifteen years and was a councillor for Larkhall Ward in Vauxhall between 2006 and 2014. During this period 2010-2011 he was Mayor of Lambeth. He was selected by the Labour Party to stand as Labour’s candidate for Putney in May 2017.
